TOPIC: Propaganda and Characterization
Objective: Students will be able to identify and label different types of propaganda and make inferences about different characters based on direct and indirect characterization.
Journal: Summarize chapters 1 and 2 of Animal Farm focusing on the main events of the story.

3) Review Characterization: Students will be given various passages from Animal Farm and will label them as being either “direct” or “indirect” forms of characterization. They will then be asked to make inferences on each character based on the passages.
4) Students will read Chapters 3 and 4 of Animal Farm. While reading, they will copy three passages which describe characters from the story. They will then label each passage as “direct” or “indirect” characterization and provide an inference.
